Vote for Access Promo
If you’re disabled, you might have questions and concerns about voting. Maybe you think your vote doesn’t matter, or you’ve been discouraged to vote by the people in your life. Or maybe you just can’t get to the damn polling place. As you’ll hear Imani point out, “If people with disabilities voted at the same rate as non-disabled voters, 2 million more voters would be cast.” So what is getting in the way of disabled voters exercising their rights? We’ll tackle these issues and more in Vote for Access, a new series to jumpstart a national conversation on what these barriers are and how to fix them. In collaboration with Block by Block Creative and 15 Protection and Advocacy agencies, and hosted by writer, advocate and disabled voter, Imani Barbarin, this series explains the systemic problems and some of the solutions that we can all work towards.
