Rooted in Rights is looking to cast kids with disabilities between the ages of 7 to 9 to appear in a new series of videos we will be shooting soon at the Woodland Park Zoo.

For these videos we are specifically looking for…

  • Kids who use mobility devices!

  • Kids who have sensory sensitivities!

  • Kids who need help with eating!

The goal for these videos is to help disabled kids feel proud about their identity and better understand accommodations. When kids see animals use adaptations, too, it reinforces the idea that disability is natural. When we all work together to make sure that people and animals have what they need, it’s better for everyone.

TO AUDITION, indicate your preference below for a time slot on Saturday, February 8.

  • 15-minute audition appointments are just a chance to hang out and chat with members of the Rooted in Rights team on camera

  • Auditions will be held at Woodland Park Zoo, 5500 Phinney Ave. N., Seattle, WA 98103

If your child is selected for this paid opportunity, they will need to attend one 2-hour taping on a day and time in February that works with RIR and Zoo staff schedules.

If you are unable to attend auditions in person, take a short video of your child telling us about their favorite animal, email it to [email protected] as an attachment or link, and we will follow up.
