Don’t Block the Box

Did you know, according to study by Georgetown University, wheelchair users are 33 percent more likely to be killed by drivers than other pedestrians? When drivers block the box, it makes the streets more dangerous for everyone.

After our “Don’t Block the Box” video went viral and was picked up by KIRO7 News, Shannon Woodman, the owner of Washington Alarm whose truck was pictured in the video blocking the intersection, reached out to Rooted in Rights.

As you’ll see in this KIRO clip, Shannon wanted to use this opportunity to train her company’s drivers to make sure they don’t endanger the lives of wheelchair users and other people trying to cross the street.
