U.N. honors autism awareness with 2012 postage stamps desgined by artists with autism

Every year the United Nations honors seven causes of importance within member nations.  They do this by issuing stamps that reflect the cause.

For 2012, one of the issues they have chosen to honor is autism awareness.  There will be a series of postage stamps designed by individuals with the developmental disability.

The submission due date was November 4th.  The stamps will be released in the upcoming year.  To follow the progress, check out the World Autism Awareness Day facebook page.  World Autism Awareness Day is April 2, 2012.
