Teaching Guidance
One of our goals for Rooted in Rights is that our content be used in the classroom for teaching disability awareness and history. To that end we will be developing teacher guide materials for video content that we believe is appropriate for use in teaching disability awareness and history. The teaching guides will be for use with videos we have developed as well as videos developed by others.
The teaching guides will include among other things a summary of the video, the length of the video, questions for use after viewing the video, the grade range for whom the curriculum is appropriate and possible follow-up assignments.
We don’t want to limit the curriculum we share on Rooted in Rights to what we are able to produce. If you have developed something that you have used, can be adapted to our format, and are willing to share for free, we would like to hear from you. You can contact us by sending an email to [email protected]org. Please be sure to put the phrase “Rooted in Rights Teaching Guidance” in the subject line of the email. We are also hopeful that if you know of videos that you believe would be good for use in teaching disability awareness or history that you will share them using the same email address as above.
This is an ongoing project beginning in October of 2012 so the offerings will grow on an incremental basis. Check back every once in awhile to see what is new.
