Restaurant owner offers free hugs with every meal

Tim Harris prides himself on owning the “World’s Friendliest Restaurant,” offering not just food, but free hugs to every customer. Supported by family, Harris opened Tim’s Place: Breakfast, Lunch, Hugs, in 2010, and became the first restaurant owner with Down syndrome in the nation. Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tim’s Place has served over 40,000 hugs. Some might say that Harris’ success is an exception to the rule but, in Harris’ own words, “People with disabilities, they can get anything they set their minds to…We are a gift to the world.” If you’d like to know more about Tim’s Place, you can visit the restaurant’s official website here.
