Online event hosted by Disability Justice Culture Club
Description by event hosts:
Want to get inspired? Join us online every quarter for a Saturday morning tell-all with our favorite care workers, creators, and rabblerousers. People on movement frontlines will tell stories and talk about lessons learned, specifically sharing the wisdom and insights learned in action. 💕✨✨ For our first video session Saturday Dec 14, we will feature a few of the activists behind the #powertolive mutual aid organizing efforts that occurred during the power shuts offs in California this fall. Bring your own breakfast beverage.
All funds raised from this online event will act as seed money for our “401community” fund/queer elder security project (name TBD), a monthly subsidy for Bay Area queer trans elders of color who have put us first for decades and are fighting like hell to stay in community. Please note that approx 15% will go towards cost of hosting the event and that no one is turned away for lack of funds. DM us for free link if needed.
We have dreams of curating a podcast of this series one day but life is never guaranteed so we strongly recommend signing up to listen in now! We will send the full recording to everyone who registers. Share your questions for our speakers in the comments below! Please let us know by Dec 12 if you have any access needs, including CART.
Visit their Eventbrite page for more information and to RSVP.
