Several active members of the Bay Area’s newly formed Disability Justice League, Bay Area will share their story of creating their own mission statement and finding ways to work on both the personal and political. This is a story of a group of people who wanted to find ways to mobilize for racial justice during the 2020 summer uprisings in a time of COVID-19 and great grief and loss for the broader DJ community in the Bay Area. This presentation will use their work on vaccine access in California to explore how the group has put principles of Disability Justice into action.
