Disabled media makers from across the country gathered for a virtual convening on Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26, 2021. Attendees shared their individual experiences as media makers and reflected on different forms of media, including filmmaking, writing, and podcasting.

Each day featured two sessions where attendees met in smaller breakout groups. On both days, attendees met in small groups to talk about and share ideas on specific topics, including COVID-19 coverage, media accessibility, how disability is represented (or not represented) in media, and our hopes for the future as disabled media makers.

Rooted in Rights created this document in hopes that these takeaways would encourage folks to continue these conversations beyond the convening.
